My Equipment

When it comes to Binoculars, they are the piece of equipment a birder uses 100% of the time. It seems only logical then, that you buy the best you can afford. I was recently blown away by the image through a pair of Swarovski SV 8 x 32. I now own a pair. I believe i will never need another pair of binoculars.

I have tried many of the available Scopes, including Alpha glass. After much deliberation, I came to the conclusion that an 8-10% improvement in image quality was NOT worth the extra £1000. Especially when optical dealers informed me when questioned that "you will probably only really appreciate the extra 8-10% in image quality in adverse viewing conditions."
Anyway, I am an Opticron fan. Their robustness, image quality and customer service impress me.
Scope - Opticron HR 66 ED Angled Spotting Scope. SDL Zoom Eyepiece.

I also own an Opticron GS 52ED Scope. This is an amazing piece of equipment. I take mine with me most of the time. The big scope is now just for Sea watching, Large reservoirs, and Twitches if I think its required. If you want a lightweight scope, I recommend this one.

Digiscoping kit - Opticron dedicated kit consisting of Panasonic FS10 camera, the SDL eyepiece photoadapter and camera bracket. I purchased a cable release bracket from SRB-Griturn.

Superzoom Camera - Canon SX40 HS

Another reason Opticron is my choice is their excellent customer service. You just can't fault it.
